Hi, I’m Nicola…

As a BANT registered Nutritional Therapist, I specialise in gut health and support women over 40 with a range of health concerns. My expertise extends to digestive issues, including reflux, as well as women’s health, weight management, sleep, and brain health and healthy ageing. With a focus on the gut-body connection, I offer personalised nutritional strategies to help you achieve your optimal wellness.

My Journey
After many fulfilling years in the travel industry, I made a life-changing decision to retrain in nutritional therapy—a choice that has been incredibly rewarding. Having struggled with gut issues in my twenties, I know firsthand the challenges and discomfort they can bring. This personal experience ignited my passion for specialising in gut health, as I understand the profound impact digestive issues can have on your life and social interactions.

6 Signs Your Gut May Be Unhappy

Fatigue

Are you constantly tired? Does it take all your strength to put one foot in front of the other?   This may be due to an imbalance in your gut bacteria and as a result you may experience sleep disturbances and reduced sleep quality leading to constant fatigue.

Abdominal Cramps

Do you have stomach pains or cramps after eating that are relieved by passing a stool?
Do you experience diarrhoea, constipation or alternate between both?

Reflux

If you experience heartburn after eating this could be due to an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in your gut. You may have noticed certain foods trigger this response ie: spicy food, chocolate etc.

Constipation

In an ideal world we would pass a stool 1-2 times a day. When we don’t have frequent bowel movements toxins start to recirculate in the body and we feel rough.

Excessive Gas

Feeling bloated and experiencing frequent flatulence, especially after eating? Loss of appetite and maybe diarrhoea or constipation? You may have a bacterial overgrowth causing these symptoms.

Low Mood

Our happy hormone serotonin, a neurotransmitter, is mostly produced in our intestine. It helps to regulate our sleep and mood, but it also supports the digestion of our food. Low mood, fatigue and insomnia may be due to low serotonin.
